Theory Hub UK Theory Test

What will a candidate be sent if they fail their driving test?

Why this is the answer

If someone fails their driving test, the examiner will email them a copy of the driving test report form (unless the candidate has chosen to have it posted instead). This will show all the faults marked during the test. The examiner will also offer an oral explanation as to why they've not passed. If you're present during the examiner's explanation, you'll be able to offer your pupil additional advice and guidance.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
An application for a new provisional licence — A provisional licence is already held; a new one is not sent out.
B
A copy of The Highway Code and advice on how to prepare next time — The Highway Code is bought or read online, not posted after a test.
D
An indication of the number of lessons they need to correct their faults — No number of lessons is prescribed; that is for the candidate and instructor.

Where this question comes from

The question, its options and the explanation are reproduced word for word from the DVSA revision question bank under licence. The licence requires them to appear unaltered, so we cannot reword them and neither can anyone else — that is why you will meet the same wording on other sites. Everything else on this page is written by Theory Hub: the explanation of why each wrong answer is wrong, the topic guide and the revision notes.
