Theory Hub UK Theory Test

What will happen if your pupil is taking their driving test but they cannot meet the eyesight requirements?

Why this is the answer

The eyesight test is carried out at the start of the practical driving test. If a candidate cannot meet the eyesight requirements, they'll fail the test and it will not continue any further. Depending upon the circumstances, the licencing authority may revoke their licence.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
They'll have an eyesight correction restriction added to their licence — A correction restriction is added when glasses are worn and the standard is met.
B
They'll have to provide a letter from an optician before their next test — A letter from an optician is not part of the test process.
C
They'll have the test postponed — The test is not postponed; it ends there.

Where this question comes from

The question, its options and the explanation are reproduced word for word from the DVSA revision question bank under licence. The licence requires them to appear unaltered, so we cannot reword them and neither can anyone else — that is why you will meet the same wording on other sites. Everything else on this page is written by Theory Hub: the explanation of why each wrong answer is wrong, the topic guide and the revision notes.
