UK theory test in Urdu

The theory test is taken in English, and no interpreter is allowed. So the work has to happen before test day. Going through the revision questions with the Urdu meaning directly underneath means you learn the road rule and the English wording together, instead of trying to translate under time pressure.

کیا چیز آپ کی توجہ کو سنگین طور پر کم کر سکتی ہے؟

منشیات

A short question, but the exam will not phrase it in the Urdu you would have chosen. Reading both versions side by side is what makes the English one predictable.

Urdu is written in Nastaliq, right to left. Every Urdu page here is laid out right to left, so the text sits the way you read it rather than being squeezed into a left-to-right layout.

Where Urdu speakers tend to lose marks

Not on the rules — most people already know them — but on question wording. "What should you do if...", "Which of these is most likely to...", "When may you...": the English construction decides the answer. Those constructions repeat across the whole bank, and once you have met them a few hundred times they stop being an obstacle.

Can I sit the test in Urdu?

No. Foreign-language voiceovers and interpreters were withdrawn in 2014, and the test is now English or Welsh only. There is support available if you find reading difficult or you are deaf — what you can and cannot ask for.
