UK theory test in Hindi

The theory test is taken in English, so Hindi cannot help you in the exam room — but it can do most of the work before it. Every question on this site is shown in English with its Hindi translation beneath, so you can check your understanding without leaving the English behind.

What a question looks like

English

What should you do when you meet an oncoming vehicle on a single-track road?

Answer: Stop at a passing place

हिन्दी

जब आप एक एकल-पथ सड़क पर एक आने वाले वाहन से मिलें तो आपको क्या करना चाहिए?

एक पासिंग प्लेस पर रुकें

"Passing place" is a British road feature with no direct Hindi equivalent, so the translation carries the English term. That is deliberate: it is the phrase the exam will use.

Hindi is written in Devanagari, and the Hindi pages here render it properly — including the conjunct letters that often break in poorly built multilingual sites.

Useful to know if you already drive in India

The side of the road is the same, which removes the biggest hurdle. What differs is everything procedural: motorway rules, roundabout priority, the documents you must carry, and how strictly speed limits are defined. Those sections are worth your time first.

Can I sit the test in Hindi?

No. Foreign-language voiceovers and interpreters were withdrawn in 2014, and the test is now English or Welsh only. There is support available if you find reading difficult or you are deaf — what you can and cannot ask for.
