Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're driving a vehicle that has automatic transmission. How are you advised to negotiate corners safely?

Why this is the answer

Automatic transmission sometimes changes up as you approach a bend, due to reduced pressure on the accelerator. To avoid this, slow down before you reach the bend, then accelerate gently as you turn.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Select the appropriate gear for the speed required and lock it in that position — Locking the gearbox takes away the flexibility an automatic is built for.
C
Use the kick-down facility to select a lower gear — Kick-down is for brisk acceleration, not for taking a corner.
D
Brake gently while driving round the corner — Braking through the corner asks the tyres for two things at once.
