Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're driving on a motorway that has chevrons painted on the carriageway. In good weather, at least how many chevrons should be visible between you and the next vehicle in your lane?

Why this is the answer

Chevrons are painted on the road surface to help you to judge a safe following distance. In good weather, at least 2 chevrons should be visible on the road surface between your vehicle and the vehicle directly ahead in your lane. Where there are no chevrons, you should use the two-second rule.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
One — One chevron is about half the gap the markings are calibrated for.
C
3 — Three is more than needed in good weather, though no bad thing.
D
4 — Four is roughly the wet-weather gap.
