Your learner is taking their test. They enter a roundabout, causing another driver to slow down to avoid them. What fault will be marked?
- A Move off, safety
- B Response to road markings
- C Response to other road users
- D Junctions, observations
Why this is the answer
A roundabout is a type of junction. When emerging at junctions your learners should not cause other drivers to alter their speed or change direction to avoid them. This requires them to accurately judge the speed of the other traffic and understand who has priority.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- Move off, safety — Move off, safety covers pulling away from a stationary position.
- B
- Response to road markings — Road markings cover driving over lines, not misjudging a gap.
- C
- Response to other road users — The other driver's reaction is the consequence; the fault is the observation that missed them.
Where this comes from
