Theory Hub UK Theory Test

Your pupil returns from their driving test. The examiner says they recorded a serious fault for positioning, normal driving. What did your pupil do incorrectly?

Why this is the answer

It's important that you teach your pupils to position the car safely on all road types. This includes on roads with markings, roads without markings, roads with more than one lane and when driving around bends.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Drove too close to the vehicle in front — Following too closely is marked under following distance.
B
Went wide around a left-hand bend — Going wide on a bend is a positioning error on one occasion, not a habit.
D
Stopped in a clearly marked bus stop — Stopping in a bus stop is marked as a parking or stopping fault.
