When must these 2 signs be used?
- A When you're carrying a load that overhangs the front or rear of the vehicle by more than 1 metre (3 feet 3 inches)
- B Whenever your vehicle is being towed
- C Whenever a police escort is required
- D When you're carrying a load that overhangs the front or rear of the vehicle by more than 2 metres (6 feet 6 inches)
Why this is the answer
The law requires you to use projection markers for long or wide loads. It's the driver's responsibility to keep the markers clean and securely fixed. They must also be independently lit at night.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- When you're carrying a load that overhangs the front or rear of the vehicle by more than 1 metre (3 feet 3 inches) — One metre is the point at which the load must be made clearly visible, not where these boards are required.
- B
- Whenever your vehicle is being towed — Being towed is a different situation with its own rules.
- C
- Whenever a police escort is required — An escort is required for far larger loads and is not what these signs mark.
