What does this sign mean?

Why this is the answer

This sign tells you to beware of trams. If you do not usually drive in a town where there are trams, remember to look out for them at junctions and look for tram rails, signs and signals.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
No trams ahead — A prohibition would be shown in a red circle.
B
Oncoming trams — Trams do not come at you head-on like this.
D
Trams only — A tram-only route is a blue sign.
