What does this sign mean?

Why this is the answer

To ease the congestion in town centres, some cities and towns provide park-and-ride schemes. These allow you to park in a designated area and ride by bus into the centre. Park-and-ride schemes are usually cheaper and easier than car parking in the town centre.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
No parking for buses or coaches — A prohibition would be shown in a red circle.
C
Direction to bus and coach park — The sign is directing you to park and then ride on.
D
Parking area for cars and coaches — It is a scheme, not simply a shared car park.
