Theory Hub UK Theory Test

What does a D1 category licence allow you to drive?

Why this is the answer

The D1 category allows you to drive any bus with 9 to 16 passenger seats for hire or reward.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Buses with a maximum of 24 passenger seats — Twenty-four seats is beyond the D1 limit.
C
Buses with a maximum of 32 passenger seats — Thirty-two is well beyond it.
D
Buses with a maximum of 48 passenger seats — Forty-eight would need a full category D.

Where this question comes from

The question, its options and the explanation are reproduced word for word from the DVSA revision question bank under licence. The licence requires them to appear unaltered, so we cannot reword them and neither can anyone else — that is why you will meet the same wording on other sites. Everything else on this page is written by Theory Hub: the explanation of why each wrong answer is wrong, the topic guide and the revision notes.
