You're driving at night. What should you do if the headlights of a following vehicle are causing dazzle?
- A Set your mirror to anti-dazzle
- B Tap your brakes until the other vehicle drops back
- C Brake sharply to a stop
- D Switch your high-intensity rear fog lights on and off
Why this is the answer
The interior mirror of most vehicles can be set to the anti-dazzle position. You'll still be able to see the lights of the traffic behind you, but the dazzle will be greatly reduced.
Why the other answers don't fit
- B
- Tap your brakes until the other vehicle drops back — Tapping the brakes to make a point is how you are hit from behind.
- C
- Brake sharply to a stop — A sharp stop on a dark road is far more dangerous than the dazzle.
- D
- Switch your high-intensity rear fog lights on and off — Flicking fog lights on and off is not a signal and dazzles them in return.
