Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're driving in falling snow. What should you do if your wipers are not clearing the windscreen?

Why this is the answer

Before you set off, you should make sure that you can see clearly through all the windows. Do not just rely on the wipers to clear the front and rear, as this will leave dangerous blind spots. If you need to, pull up safely and clear the windows by hand.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Set the windscreen demister to cool — A cool demister leaves the screen misted on the inside as well.
C
Use the windscreen washers — Washers add water to snow that is already not clearing.
D
Partly open the front windows — Open windows let the snow in without clearing the screen.
