Why would you flash your headlights to another road user?
- A To show that you're giving way to them
- B To let them know they need to dip their headlights
- C To show that they made a mistake
- D To let them know that you're there
Why this is the answer
You should only flash your headlights to warn others of your presence. Do not use them to • greet others • show impatience • give up your priority. Other road users could misunderstand your signal.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- To show that you're giving way to them — Giving way is shown by slowing and stopping, not by a flash.
- B
- To let them know they need to dip their headlights — A flash does not carry that message, and it may dazzle them further.
- C
- To show that they made a mistake — Pointing out mistakes with your lights is not what the signal is for.
