When can car drivers use a cycle lane identified by this sign?
- A During the times shown
- B Outside the times shown
- C Never
- D At any time
Why this is the answer
The sign shows a mandatory cycle lane, and drivers must not park or drive in it during its times of operation. The lane will be marked by a solid white line on the road. Where the cycle lane is advisory, it will be marked by a broken white line. There'll also be a similar sign that shows a bicycle on a blue background but without the lane represented. Do not drive in this lane unless it's unavoidable.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- During the times shown — The times shown are when the lane is reserved, not when you may use it.
- C
- Never — A lane with stated hours is open to other traffic outside them.
- D
- At any time — At any time would make the sign meaningless.
