What do these zigzag white lines mean?
- A No parking at any time
- B Parking allowed only for a short time
- C Slow down to 20 mph
- D Sounding horns is not allowed
Why this is the answer
The approach to, and exit from, a pedestrian crossing is marked with zigzag lines. You must not park on them or overtake the leading vehicle when approaching the crossing. Parking here would block the view for pedestrians and approaching traffic.
Why the other answers don't fit
- B
- Parking allowed only for a short time — No parking is allowed on them at all.
- C
- Slow down to 20 mph — The lines carry no speed limit.
- D
- Sounding horns is not allowed — The horn is governed by time and place, not by these lines.
