What are under inflated tyres likely to cause?

Why this is the answer

It's important to check your tyre pressures regularly for safety reasons and to save you money. Under inflated tyres can cause an increase in rolling resistance, which increases fuel consumption. Under inflated tyres also cause longer stopping distances and wear more quickly. Always check the tyre pressures when the tyres are cold.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Decreased fuel consumption — Fuel use goes up with soft tyres, not down.
C
Decreased stopping distance — Stopping distances get longer, not shorter.
D
Increased tyre lifespan — A soft tyre wears faster at the edges and lasts less long.
