What could you do to guard against the risk of a vehicle fire?
- A Use a corrosion inhibitor fuel additive
- B Check out any strong smell of petrol
- C Avoid driving with a full tank of petrol
- D Use a fuel stabiliser additive
Why this is the answer
The fuel in your vehicle can be a dangerous fire hazard. A strong smell of petrol may indicate a fuel leak and needs investigating. Do not use a naked flame near the vehicle if you can smell fuel, and do not smoke when refuelling your vehicle.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- Use a corrosion inhibitor fuel additive — A corrosion inhibitor protects the fuel system; it does not stop a leak catching fire.
- C
- Avoid driving with a full tank of petrol — A full tank is not a fire risk in itself; a leaking one is, however much is in it.
- D
- Use a fuel stabiliser additive — A stabiliser keeps fuel fresh in storage.
