Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're driving a lorry with a maximum authorised mass of more than 7.5 tonnes along a three-lane motorway. When may you use the right-hand lane?

Why this is the answer

Use of the right-hand lane on motorways with three or more lanes is not normally allowed for • vehicles over 7.5 tonnes maximum authorised mass • vehicles required to be fitted with a speed limiter • vehicles towing a trailer. This rule does not apply in special circumstances, such as when the left-hand lane is closed.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
To overtake slower lorries — Overtaking does not entitle a vehicle of this weight to the right-hand lane.
C
If you drive at more than 60 mph — Speed does not change the lane restriction.
D
If you're travelling unladen — Being unladen does not change it either.
