What will happen if the brake-fluid level falls too low?

Why this is the answer

Driving a vehicle with a brake defect could be dangerous and may constitute an offence. Check the brake-fluid level regularly, using the high/low markers on the reservoir. If the fluid level is too low, it could result in loss of braking efficiency.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
The brakes will overheat — Overheating comes from heavy use, not from a low fluid level.
C
The brakes will stick — Sticking brakes come from seized components.
D
The parking brake will fail — The parking brake is usually a cable system and is unaffected by the fluid.
