Theory Hub UK Theory Test

How far are you allowed to reverse?

Why this is the answer

You must not reverse further than is necessary. You may decide to turn your vehicle around by reversing into an opening or side road. When you reverse, always look all around you and watch for pedestrians. Do not reverse from a side road into a main road.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
No more than a car’s length — No fixed distance is set anywhere in law.
C
As far as it takes to reverse around a corner — Sometimes that is necessary and sometimes it is not. The rule is about necessity.
D
The length of a residential street — Far more than could ever be necessary.
