When should you use your vehicle's horn?
- A To warn others of your presence
- B To allow you right of way
- C To greet other road users
- D To signal your annoyance
Why this is the answer
Only use your horn to warn people of your presence when they may not have seen you. Do not use it to greet others, to show impatience, or to give or claim priority. Your horn must not be used between 11:30pm and 7am in a built-up area, or when your vehicle is stationary, unless another vehicle poses a danger.
Why the other answers don't fit
- B
- To allow you right of way — The horn confers no priority at all.
- C
- To greet other road users — It is not a greeting, and using it as one is prohibited at night.
- D
- To signal your annoyance — Annoyance is never a reason to sound it.
