When should tyre pressures be checked?
- A After any lengthy journey
- B After travelling at high speed
- C When tyres are hot
- D When tyres are cold
Why this is the answer
Check the tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. This will give you a more accurate reading. The heat generated on a long journey will raise the pressure inside the tyre.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- After any lengthy journey — A long journey heats the tyres and raises the reading.
- B
- After travelling at high speed — The same problem, and more so.
- C
- When tyres are hot — Hot air expands, so the reading comes out too high.
