Theory Hub UK Theory Test

Your learner asks if you can accompany them on their driving test. What should you tell them?

Why this is the answer

At the start of the practical driving test, the examiner will ask the candidate if they wish their instructor or accompanying driver to be present during the test. Anyone who does accompany the candidate must be 16 years or older and must wear a seat belt during the test.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Yes, because anyone aged 14 or over can accompany candidates on test — The age is 16, not 14.
C
Yes, because only driving instructors can accompany candidates on test — Anyone of that age may come, not only instructors.
D
Yes if you're a family member, because only a family member can accompany candidates on test — There is no family-only rule.
