Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You develop a new long term health problem. What must you do if your health affects your driving?

Why this is the answer

You must inform the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), or the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) in Northern Ireland, about any health condition likely to affect your driving. They'll investigate your condition and how it affects your ability to drive; they may not take away your licence.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Inform your local police station — The police do not hold the licensing record.
B
Get on as best you can — Getting on as best you can is how conditions go unreported until something happens.
C
Ask your doctor for an exemption certificate — No exemption certificate exists for this; the duty is to notify.

Where this question comes from

The question, its options and the explanation are reproduced word for word from the DVSA revision question bank under licence. The licence requires them to appear unaltered, so we cannot reword them and neither can anyone else — that is why you will meet the same wording on other sites. Everything else on this page is written by Theory Hub: the explanation of why each wrong answer is wrong, the topic guide and the revision notes.
