Theory Hub UK Theory Test

Why may coaches be subject to a search by immigration authorities at international ports?

Why this is the answer

Because of the threat to national security, coaches may be searched at ports and the Channel Tunnel. If the authorities are not satisfied, they may refuse to let you continue.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
To check for red diesel — Fuel duty is a revenue matter for HMRC, not for immigration officers.
C
For tachograph regulations — Tachograph rules are enforced by DVSA at roadside checks.
D
To check vehicle condition — Vehicle condition is checked by DVSA, not at the immigration desk.
