Which shape is used for a 'give way' sign?
- A
- B
- C
- D
Why this is the answer
Other warning signs are the same shape and colour, but the 'give way' triangle points downwards. When you see this sign, you must give way to traffic on the road that you're about to enter.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- — An upright triangle warns of a hazard. Give way is the one triangle that is turned upside down.
- B
- — A red circle forbids something. Give way forbids nothing — it says who goes first when it is busy.
- C
- — The octagon belongs to 'stop', which is the stronger order: stop every time, busy road or not.
