When must you stop your vehicle?
- A If you’re involved in an incident that causes damage or injury
- B At a junction where there are ‘give way’ lines
- C At the end of a one-way street
- D Before merging onto a motorway
Why this is the answer
You must stop your vehicle when signalled to do so by a • police, DVSA or traffic officer • traffic warden • school crossing patrol • red traffic light. You must also stop if you're involved in an incident that causes damage or injury to any other person, vehicle, animal or property.
Why the other answers don't fit
- B
- At a junction where there are ‘give way’ lines — Give way means give way. You stop only if you need to.
- C
- At the end of a one-way street — There is no automatic requirement to stop there.
- D
- Before merging onto a motorway — You match the speed of the traffic. Stopping on a slip road is dangerous.
Where this comes from
