Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You see these double white lines along the centre of the road. When may you park on the left?

Why this is the answer

You must not park or stop on a road marked with double white lines (even where one of the lines is broken) except to pick up or set down passengers.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
If the line nearest to you is broken — The restriction applies even where one of the two lines is broken.
B
When there are no yellow lines — The white lines carry their own restriction, whatever the kerb markings say.
D
During daylight hours only — Daylight makes no difference at all to this rule.
