What shape are traffic signs giving orders?
- A
- B
- C
- D
Why this is the answer
Road signs in the shape of a circle give orders. Those with a red circle are mostly prohibitive. The ‘stop’ sign is octagonal to give it greater prominence. Signs giving orders must always be obeyed.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- — That arrow shape points the way at roadworks and diversions. It directs traffic, it does not order.
- B
- — Rectangles give information — car parks, routes, lanes — rather than telling you what you must do.
- C
- — Triangles warn of what is ahead. A warning tells you to expect something, not to do something.
