Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're teaching your pupil how to reverse a car into a side road on the left. What should you teach them to do if the rear nearside tyre gently touches the kerb?

Why this is the answer

If your pupil makes a minor error when carrying out a reversing exercise, even during their driving test, it's acceptable to correct the problem before it develops into a serious fault. The correction must be carried out safely.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Reverse up onto the kerb then off again to avoid pulling forwards — Driving up the kerb and off again risks the tyre sidewall and the wheel.
C
Accept that they're not ready for this exercise and drive off — Abandoning the exercise teaches nothing; correcting it teaches everything.
D
Keep going backwards until they mount the kerb and then pull forward — Mounting the kerb deliberately is the fault, not the correction.
