You're on a motorway. A lorry has stopped in the right-hand lane. What should you do when you see this sign on the lorry?
- A Move into the right-hand lane
- B Stop behind the flashing lights
- C Pass the lorry on the left
- D Leave the motorway at the next exit
Why this is the answer
Sometimes work is carried out on the motorway without closing the lanes. When this happens, signs are mounted on the back of lorries to warn other road users of the roadworks ahead.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- Move into the right-hand lane — That is the lane the lorry is occupying.
- B
- Stop behind the flashing lights — The sign is telling you how to pass, not telling you to stop.
- D
- Leave the motorway at the next exit — Nothing here closes the motorway.
