Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're driving towards a level crossing. What would be the first warning of an approaching train?

Why this is the answer

The steady amber light will be followed by twin flashing red lights, which mean you must stop. An alarm will also sound to alert you to the fact that a train is approaching.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Both half barriers coming down — The barriers come down after the lights have started.
C
One half barrier coming down — One barrier is still later than the first light.
D
Twin flashing red lights — The twin red lights follow the steady amber.
