Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're at a bus stop. What should you do if passengers are standing on the open platform?

Why this is the answer

A bus driver must never allow their passengers to ride on an open platform. Anyone standing on an open platform is at risk should the driver have to brake harshly, swerve or suddenly change direction.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Put the chain across the platform — The chain would shut them out on a moving platform rather than bring them in.
B
Ask them to hold on tight — Holding on is not a substitute for being inside the vehicle.
C
Move off but drive more slowly — A slower start does not make an open platform safe.
