Theory Hub UK Theory Test

Your bus is fitted with seat belts. When should passengers wear them?

Why this is the answer

As the driver of a bus, you may be responsible for several passengers at any given time. If a situation occurs where you have to brake or steer harshly, your passengers could be thrown about the vehicle. In these circumstances, there's a significant risk of injury from fittings on board, such as luggage racks, handrails and poles. If seat belts are provided for passengers, they should wear them.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
During journeys of more than 20 minutes — No time limit applies. A short journey has the same risk per mile as a long one.
B
Only when travelling in EU countries — The requirement does not depend on which country you are in.
C
Only when travelling on motorways — Motorway speeds are higher, and belts are required on every road where they are fitted.
