Theory Hub UK Theory Test

Your bus breaks down on the motorway. What should you do if it’s not feasible to remove your passengers from the vehicle?

Why this is the answer

Stop as far to the left as possible on the hard shoulder. Make sure all your passengers have moved as far as possible to the front of the vehicle; this will reduce the risk of injury if a passing vehicle runs into the back of the bus. Use an emergency telephone to call for assistance.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Move passengers to the rear of the bus — The rear is the end a following vehicle strikes first.
C
Move passengers to the middle of the bus — The middle is better than the rear and still not as far from the impact as the front.
D
Tell passengers to stay in the same seats — Leaving people where they are leaves some of them at the back.
