Which passengers should you especially watch for as you move off?
- A Those smoking in the lower saloon
- B Those standing in the upper saloon
- C Those avoiding paying the correct fare
- D Those attempting to board the bus
Why this is the answer
Always check your nearside mirror before moving away. A passenger may be attempting to open the door to board the bus, or running to jump aboard an open platform. Also check for passengers trying to get off the bus as you move away.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- Those smoking in the lower saloon — Smoking needs dealing with, and nobody is in danger of being caught by the wheels because of it.
- B
- Those standing in the upper saloon — Standing upstairs is a seated-capacity question, not a moving-off one.
- C
- Those avoiding paying the correct fare — Fare evasion is a revenue problem. It is not what makes moving off dangerous.
