What's a bus driver's first priority?

Why this is the answer

Bus drivers have responsibilities beyond those of other drivers. Your passengers have paid for a service, and they should arrive at their chosen destination safely. Customers are more likely to travel with you again if they receive a safe, courteous and comfortable service.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Keeping to the timetable — The timetable matters and never comes before the people on board.
C
Completing tachograph records correctly — Tachograph records are a legal duty, and they are not the first one.
D
Making sure the destination is clearly marked — A clear destination helps passengers find the bus, which is not the same as keeping them safe.
