What should you teach your pupil to do when they approach a bus signalling to move away from a bus stop?

Why this is the answer

Teach your pupil to give way to buses if they can do so safely, especially when they signal to move off from a bus stop. Get them to look out for people who've just got off the bus, as they may try to cross the road. Do not allow your pupil to try to accelerate past before the bus starts moving, and do not let them flash their headlights; other road users may be misled by this signal.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Get past before it moves — Racing past a bus that has signalled is exactly what the Highway Code asks you not to do.
C
Flash their headlights as they approach — A flash says only that you are there, and it may be read as something else.
D
Signal left and wave the bus on — A left signal means you are turning left, and waving hands them a decision about your road.
