What should you do if there's a fire on the upper deck of your bus?
- A Move all the passengers to the lower deck
- B Get all the passengers off the bus
- C Make sure passengers have their belongings
- D Open all the windows on the upper deck
Why this is the answer
Fire can spread extremely quickly. Your priority is the safety of your passengers: you must get them off the bus straight away. If at all possible, disconnect electrical lines and cut off the fuel supply. Fire can destroy a vehicle very quickly.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- Move all the passengers to the lower deck — Moving people to the lower deck keeps them inside a burning vehicle.
- C
- Make sure passengers have their belongings — Belongings can be replaced. Going back for them costs the time that matters.
- D
- Open all the windows on the upper deck — Opening windows feeds the fire with air.
