What’s the minimum legal depth of tread on the tyres of a trailer?

Why this is the answer

Your car or small van must have a minimum tread depth of 1.6 mm across the central three quarters of the width of the tyre and around the entire circumference. This also applies to the tyres on your trailer.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
1 mm — 1 mm is the figure for large goods vehicles and motorcycles over 50 cc.
C
2 mm — 2 mm is a sensible replacement point, not the legal minimum.
D
2.2 mm — 2.2 mm corresponds to nothing in the regulations.
