Theory Hub UK Theory Test

What must you do if your eyesight has become very poor and you're no longer able to meet the driver's eyesight requirements?

Why this is the answer

Having very poor eyesight will have a serious effect on your ability to drive safely. If you cannot meet the driver's eyesight requirements, you must tell DVLA (or DVA in Northern Ireland).

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Tell your doctor — Worth doing, but the licence is held by the licensing authority.
C
Tell the police — The police do not administer licences.
D
Tell your optician — Your optician is who found it. They are not who must be told.

Where this question comes from

The question, its options and the explanation are reproduced word for word from the DVSA revision question bank under licence. The licence requires them to appear unaltered, so we cannot reword them and neither can anyone else — that is why you will meet the same wording on other sites. Everything else on this page is written by Theory Hub: the explanation of why each wrong answer is wrong, the topic guide and the revision notes.
