How can you tell when you're driving on black ice?

Why this is the answer

Black ice makes a road look damp, and you may not be able to see that it's icy. Signs that indicate you may be on black ice include • your steering suddenly feels light • a lack of road noise from your tyres.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
Your car accelerates faster — The car does not accelerate faster on ice; the wheels spin instead.
B
Your tyre noise sounds louder — Tyre noise falls away on black ice, which is part of the warning.
C
You see black ice on the road — Black ice is almost invisible, which is where it gets its name.
