Theory Hub UK Theory Test

You're at the scene of an incident. How can you help someone suffering from shock?

Why this is the answer

Immediate treatment can help to reduce the effects of shock. Reassure the casualty and try to keep them warm and comfortable. Only move a casualty if it's necessary for their safety.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Offer them a sugary snack — Food and drink delay surgery, which someone in shock may well need.
C
Keep them moving — Movement makes shock worse; stillness and reassurance make it better.
D
Give them a warm drink — A warm drink is the instinct and the wrong one, for the same surgical reason.
