You intend to move a heavy object using a barrow or trolley. What's the best height for the handles?
- A Between the shoulder and the waist
- B As high as you can reach
- C Between the knee and the waist
- D As low as possible for comfort
Why this is the answer
When moving a load, make sure you do not have to bend down or stretch up to reach the handles. Also, try to push rather than pull, so you can see where you're going.
Why the other answers don't fit
- B
- As high as you can reach — Handles above your shoulders put the weight where you cannot control it.
- C
- Between the knee and the waist — Below the waist makes you stoop, and stooping is how backs are injured.
- D
- As low as possible for comfort — As low as possible is the worst of all for your back.
