Theory Hub UK Theory Test

On a three-lane motorway, which lane should you use if there's no traffic ahead?

Why this is the answer

On a three-lane motorway, you should travel in the left-hand lane unless you’re overtaking. This applies regardless of the speed at which you’re travelling.

Why the other answers don't fit

B
Right — The right-hand lane is for overtaking, and there is nothing to overtake.
C
Centre — Sitting in the middle lane with a clear left-hand lane is one of the commonest motorway faults there is.
D
Either the right or centre — Neither of them, while the left-hand lane is free.
