How will a roof rack affect your car?

Why this is the answer

A roof rack increases your car's wind resistance. This will cause an increase in fuel consumption, so you should remove it when it’s not being used. An aerodynamically designed roof rack or box will help reduce wind resistance to a minimum, but the rack or box should still be removed when it’s not in use.

Why the other answers don't fit

A
There will be less wind noise — A rack adds turbulence, so there is more wind noise, not less.
B
The engine will use more oil — Oil consumption is unaffected by what is on the roof.
C
The car will accelerate faster — Extra weight and drag slow the car down.
