How should you care for a passenger who's in shock?
- A Give them liquids
- B Keep them moving
- C Encourage them to sleep
- D Keep them warm
Why this is the answer
After an incident, passengers who’re not obviously injured may be suffering from shock. Reassure them and keep them warm. Do not give them anything to eat or drink. Call the emergency services and keep yourself and any injured passengers calm until professional help arrives.
Why the other answers don't fit
- A
- Give them liquids — Liquids delay surgery, which someone in shock may need.
- B
- Keep them moving — Movement makes shock worse; stillness makes it better.
- C
- Encourage them to sleep — Sleep is not what shock needs, and an unconscious person needs watching.
