› Can I take the UK driving theory test in Arabic, Urdu, Polish or another language?
No. Since 2014 the theory test can only be taken in English or Welsh (with British Sign Language available). Foreign-language voiceovers and interpreters are no longer allowed. That is exactly why practising with a translation helps: on Theory Hub every question appears in English — the language of the real test — with a translation directly below it, so you learn the English wording while fully understanding the meaning.
› How many questions are in the car theory test, and what is the pass mark?
The multiple-choice part of the car theory test has 50 questions and you need 43 correct answers to pass. You have 57 minutes. You must also pass the hazard perception part in the same sitting: 14 video clips with a maximum score of 75, with a pass mark of 44.
› Are these the actual questions from the live theory test?
No — no website or app has the live test questions. Theory Hub uses the revision question bank licensed by DVSA, the people who set the live test. These revision questions cover the same topics and knowledge as the live test, which is why they are the standard way to prepare.
› How much does the theory test cost?
The car and motorcycle theory test costs £23. Lorry and bus tests are priced differently. Always book through GOV.UK — third-party booking sites charge extra fees for nothing.
› How long is the theory test pass certificate valid?
Two years from the date you pass. If you do not pass your practical driving test within those two years, you must take the theory test again.
› Is Theory Hub really free?
Yes. Every question, translation, mock test and the English voiceover is free, with no account and no sign-up. The site is supported by advertising.
› Which languages does Theory Hub support?
Questions are shown in English with translations in Arabic, Urdu, Persian (Farsi), Polish, Romanian, Turkish and Hindi — eight languages in total. An English voiceover can also read each question aloud.
› Will the translations appear in my real exam?
No. The real test is in English (or Welsh) only. The translations on Theory Hub are a study aid: they help you understand exactly what each English question means while you revise, so the wording does not surprise you on test day.
› How do I book the real theory test?
Book directly on GOV.UK (gov.uk/book-theory-test). You will need your provisional driving licence number, an email address and a payment card.
